
What are some of the reasons we fail to meet our goals? Laziness? Fatigue? Lack of willpower? “Life”?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve fallen prey to these and other factors. In reality, though, we give away a lot more of our control and willpower than we need to. I was reminded of this Sunday night after logging a ruck in my Pathfinder Training Endure log. It’s been a long while since I’ve updated it, and I thought, “How did I get here?”
Today I read a pretty inspiring article entitled, This One Question Will Make Every Decision in Your Life Easier. The article showed how boiling down all of our thought spaghetti into one question: “Will it make the boat go faster?” helps us course correct in a very honest and fundamental way. Here’s an excerpt to whet your appetite:
The British rowing team had not won a gold medal since 1912. By all measures, they didn’t have a good rowing program.
Then something changed. In anticipation of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the team developed a useful strategy that changed everything. They went from being an average rowing team to winning Olympic Gold. Read the rest here.
